Does booking through Port & Place cost more?

Not necessarily. Travel companies distribute their holidays in different ways, and many already include agent or distribution costs within their pricing. Online booking platforms also make money from the travel they sell. We'll always be clear about the price available through us and what you're booking. The difference with Port & Place is that you also have someone helping you understand the options and bring the trip together.

Can I send you research I've already done?

Yes, and we'd encourage it. A hotel you found on Instagram, a cruise someone recommended, a quote you've been given or an itinerary you put together yourself — send it over with your Plan My Trip enquiry. You don't have to start from scratch with us. We'll use what you've found as part of the conversation and explore what's available through our travel partners.

Do you only arrange cruises?

Not at all. Cruising is a particular passion at Port & Place, but we can also help with beach holidays, city breaks, long-haul trips, touring and adventure holidays, adults-only escapes, family holidays, special occasions, tailor-made travel and more.

Which travel companies do you work with?

Accepted Answer

Through our travel partners, we work with more than 200 travel suppliers. These include well-known names such as TUI, Jet2, easyJet, Aviate, P&O Cruises, Virgin Voyages and Wendy Wu, alongside many more specialist travel providers.

Can you help if I don't know exactly where I want to go?

Absolutely. You don't need to arrive with a destination, hotel and dates already decided. Tell us what sort of experience you're looking for, who's travelling, when you'd like to go and your approximate budget, and we'll help you explore the possibilities.

Can you create a holiday that isn't already available as a package?

Yes. We're not limited to ready-made holidays. With access to more than 200 travel suppliers, we can often bring together different elements such as flights, accommodation, cruises and transfers to create a trip around your plans. This can be particularly useful for cruises, multi-part trips or when the best flight and hotel options aren't available together as a standard package.

Can you help me choose the right cruise?

Yes. Different cruise lines and ships can offer very different experiences. We can help you consider things such as itinerary, ship, onboard atmosphere, cabin choice, dining and what's important to you, with the aim of finding a cruise that suits the way you want to travel.

Is my holiday financially protected?

Port & Place Travel is a trading name of The JLT Group. JLT holidays have financial protection arrangements including ATOL, Package Travel Regulations, Supplier Failure Insurance (SFI), Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI) and a Trust Account to protect client funds. The JLT Group is also a member of Protected Trust Services (PTS), membership PTS6090. ATOL protection does not apply to every travel service or booking. Where ATOL protection applies, you should receive an ATOL Certificate setting out what is protected. Please ask us to confirm what protection applies to your particular booking.

Is every booking ATOL protected?

No. ATOL protection applies to certain flight-inclusive travel arrangements but does not apply to every holiday or travel service. Port & Place is a trading name of The JLT Group, which is ATOL protected (12564). Where your booking is ATOL protected, you should receive an ATOL Certificate explaining what is covered. We recommend arranging appropriate travel insurance as soon as you book. Make sure the cover is suitable for your individual needs, destination and planned activities, and that you understand any limits and exclusions that apply.

Do I need to check my passport and entry requirements?

Yes. Passport validity, visa and entry requirements vary between destinations and can change. It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure they meet the requirements for every country they are visiting or travelling through.
